How to Deal with Toddler Cough

If I was given the magical power to eliminate one thing from this world, it would have to be children’s illness. And if not illnesses in kids of all ages, at least diseases in toddlers should be eradicated from this world forever. There are many things that parents of a small baby have to contend with such as, sleepless nights, constantly crying babies, colic ridden children and other duties related to children. But all these tasks are a piece of cake when compared to dealing with toddler cough.

In today’s times, toddler cough may not seem to be a very severe illness in kids. But there was a time, not too many decades ago, when a cough was the last thing parents wanted their children to contract. This is because a cough would usually signal the onset of very dangerous diseases, which could even end up being fatal. But thankfully, this is not the case anymore. Today, due to several advances in science and the availability of many great medicines, a toddler cough has become relatively easier to deal with.

Another children’s illness that I simply cannot bear in young kids is – diarrhea in toddlers. This illness, along with being very unpleasant, can also drain the child of all its energy. Due to the constant bowel movements, kids are also left dehydrated and feeling like they do not have any life in them. But as is in the case of cough, even diarrhea in toddlers can easily be treated nowadays.

I would like to give parents of small children a very valuable tip here. Whenever your kids are unwell, it pays to keep them distracted so that their bodies can recover faster. And the best way I have seen to distract kids is by reading them a good story book. If your kids are not too interested in the story book, you can also play some fun games with them.

As I said previously, there is not much reason to be concerned about toddler cough in today’s day and age. Our kids have a very good diet now and eating healthy results in good immunity. This means their bodies are more equipped to fight illnesses in a natural way than they were centuries ago. Also, immunizations are a part and parcel of every kid’s normal growing routine. From the time they are born till they are about 5 years of age, all children are given injections to fight normal day to day diseases. Such immunizations also help kids to fight illnesses such as diarrhea in toddlers and toddler cough.

However, if the toddler cough lasts for more than 4-5 days and does not seem to get better with time, it may be best to consult a child doctor immediately.

Spanish in Chile and Spain

How much do you know about the Spanish language? People seldom notice the difference between Spanish in Chile and Spanish in Spain. Yes, there is a significant difference. Although the two locations use the similar language, most of the words used from Chile are no longer used in today’s Spanish language in Spain. Take for example the suffix “sisimo”. It is mainly used to denote exaggeration over several words, like “grandisimo”, rather than just plain “grande”. So if you want to learn the Spanish language and have no basic knowledge on the language at hand, how can you come out safe from all of this confusion? The solution is pretty simple: learn the basics. Learning the proper vocabulary and constructing simple yet concise sentences is an effective way to learn the Spanish language – and all the other languages, in fact. You can use a Spanish-English or English-Spanish dictionary to help you guide while you’re learning. And of course, the internet is a great source of tutorials one can easily comprehend. These resources can give you a big boost towards your Spanish-driven studies for both Spanish in Chile and Spain.

The United States has now become the third country which has the most Spanish-speaking residents. It is a big challenge for teachers in the country when they encounter students whose native language is Spanish. Much more when it comes to parent-teacher conferences, the teacher cannot convey messages properly if she cannot speak Spanish. Since most educators are free during summers, they usually take advantage of this. Immersion programs are offered in Peru Spanish schools. Spanish can be learned and used at the same time, guaranteeing improved retention. The trip to Peru can be a learning experience and a perfect getaway at the same time. Upon going back home, being able to speak Spanish fluently can be a unique skill that can be added to the resume. Schools offer higher wages to teachers who can speak Spanish, because of the growing population of Spanish speaking residents in the country. Though it is a benefit, a good teacher usually aims for the better understanding of her students.

The Amazing Bob Hope

I miss the good old days of the great comedians. I beleive humor in those days was better crafted. It didn’t rely on shady subjects and foul language. Bob Hope was the King of comedy. His funny quotes still stand the test of time. Try this quote on for size: “Drugs are very much a part of professional sports today, but when you think about it, golf is the only sport where the players aren’t penalized for being on grass.” Bob Hope was a huge fan of golf, even founding his own golf tournament that is still alive today. What better subject to make fun is there than golf? He once said: “I’ll shoot my age if I have to live to be 105.” Or how about this one: “Isn’t it fun to go out on the course and lie in the sun?” Bob lived to be nearly 100 years old. He kidded about it too by saying” “I don’t feel old. I don’t feel anything until noon. Then it’s time for my nap.” His wonderful funny quotes still make people laugh today.

Learn How to Speak Spanish Online

Anyone can argue that trying to learn a new language can be a daunting task. Sometimes, it can take several weeks before being able to say a sentence correctly. Learning how to speak Spanish is no exception to this rule, however, now thank to the internet there are ways to learn as you go. What I mean by that is, there are entire Spanish courses online ready for people to access anywhere, any time and on any device that can play sound & connect to the internet!

The days of trying to locate a nearby adult school that has a Spanish language program and flexible hours is over. Because of the technology we enjoy today, you can easily login to your account and begin learning how to speak Spanish in seconds! Since the audio format is in mp3, you can even choose to download the modules into a portable device like an iPhone or laptop, then listen to it without needing to be online.

The options are so convenient that there really is no comparison between the old way of learning Spanish and the new method. Some folks like to take their online courses to their favorite coffee stop to enjoy a hot cup of coffee while learning a new language. Since most popular coffee shops already have available internet connectivity for free, it’s not a problem to login.

interestingly enough however, are the folks who refuse to join this new way of getting things done because they are just too set in their ways. These are the same people who have televisions that are heavier than their car, only watch movies from VHS tapes and must step into a bank to make a simple transfer of funds… They are used to the hard way and trust no other alternative, you probably know a few people like this.

For those who fancy taking advantage of the world of technology, there simply has not been a better time than today to learn how to speak Spanish.

Synonyms allow you to create variety and exactness in what one writes. A ‘building’ is a fine word, but do you mean a cabin or a skyscraper? A single family home or apartment complex? Do you, like totally, notice yourself totally repeating the totally same words over and totally over as you write [or speak]? Try instead to use ‘completely’, ‘utterly’, to break the repetition and stop annoying your readers and listeners. Inserting [totally different] similar words that mean the same as more commonly used words can actually [totally] get the attention of others much more effectively [totally] than continual [total] repetition. Get the drift? The idea? The concept? The symbolic abstraction? So why don’t you try it out the next time you write something. Just pick one word [that you perhaps over used] and look up the synonyms and see about doing an imaginative rewrite to create something totally better.

If your major in college has to do with learning Spanish, or you just take it as one of your classes, then you should consider study abroad programs to help you better understand this language. With the programs that are available you will be able to travel and go to school in an other country where the native language is Spanish instead of English. This way you can be around the culture and people who fluently speak the language all the time instead of just when you are in class. This can help you learn the language much more quickly and in a more effective way than studying in your regular class setting. If this sounds like it’s something you would want to do, then you should talk with your school counselor to see what study abroad programs they have. Most schools work with different programs so only a select few countries might be available.

The Future of Education and Books

One of the things that I hated when I was in middle school was having to carry around a backpack full of books that were heavier than me. This problem would continue into college where I would have to lug a heavy bag around a large campus. It was not fun at all. Additionally, books get torn and ripped and decay over time. The cost of replacing physical books for schools is very costly, and with increasing costs of printing can mean that schools have to cut other services to buy their books. That is why I think the future of education and books has to be downloadable textbooks online. A digital text weighs nothing, and it can be reproduced infinitely with almost no cost. This could greatly reduce school expenses. Additionally, a digital text has advantages that a traditional text does not. It can be embedded with hyperlinks and multimedia, it can be searched, and you can take notes in them without the problem of degrading the book.
